World Bonsai Convention -- Virtual
Saturday, October 8 through Sunday, October 16, 2022
The World Bonsai Friendship Federation is an international organization that sponsors the international World Bonsai Convention once every four years. The last WBC was scheduled in Perth Australian in 2021 but had to be cancelled because of COVID-19.
This year, Australia is still restricting travel, so a physical convention is not possible, but the WBFF is trying something new. Attendance will be "virtual"--online. All presentations will be recorded and can be viewed repeatedly. There will be online auction and market place so those of us on the other side of the planet have a chance to attend presentations and view bonsai and suiseki exhibits
One of the presenters is Michael Hagedorn, author of Bonsai Heresy and other good books. (By the way, our own Felix Laughlin was WBFF Chairman from 2001 to 2005 and would like us to support this event all we can. A virtual conference is a gamble.)
Early Bird registration is cheaper. $90 Australian for 9 days (about $70 US for 9 days.) Early Bird Registration ends June 30th.
